One of the most important finding's is the discovery of the
perpendicular mirror image technique that allowed Leonardo to
create series of images along a specific plane within an artwork that
only becomes  complete and visible when observed utilizing a
mirror.  The technique is a natural extension of the backwards
mirror writing Leonardo was known to have used in encrypting his
notes.

A second and almost equally important finding is Leonardo’s use of
optical illusions based on subtle changes and transitional shading
from light to dark within his sketches and paintings.  The Website
lists selected important Discoveries to date within the major da Vinci
artworks.  We are listing only a few of the more visible discoveries
and some specific findings.

One of the examples is that within the Virgin and child with Saint
Anne and the infant Saint John the Baptist, there is a treasure trove
of images within and constructs outside of the drawing of religious,
philosophic, historical  and likely political  significance. They
include the Mason's symbol, The Chalice, a Knight Templar and
sword to mention only a few.
